Artists Represented

Ned Krouse

For many years, Ned Krouse, a native of Ft. Wayne, IN, was an elementary school teacher before his interest in pottery and his desire to make handmade objects led him back to school and a degree in fine art. He completed his MFA at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia in 1982 before moving to Wilmington, NC, where his wife, Susan, was pursuing a career in museum work. Her doctorate in cultural anthropology later allowed them to travel across much of America.

Ned's easy manner has led him into conversations with others about their own experiences in pottery making. His curiosity about other cultures encountered during his travels has allowed him to formulate and incorporate his own ideas about glazes, color, size, and form into his own work. Ned's work has been widely exhibited in the northeast, the midwest and North Carolina, and was included in the prestigious Everson Museum of Art's annual exhibition of ceramics in 1994 at Syracuse University.
